Victor Chandler, better known by its trading name ‘BetVictor’, is one of the leading online bookmakers. Founded in 1946, the Gibraltar based company is named after former chairman and advertising figurehead, Victor Chandler. The BetVictor group of websites (Sports, Casino, Poker, Games) has accumulated over 500,000 customers in recent years, from over 160 countries. BV is now the largest private employer in Gibraltar with over 400 people working for them.
The Victor Chandler company was founded by William Chandler, who passed it on to his son Victor Chandler Sr. Who in turn passed it to his son, Victor Chandler Jr. (the man we all see on the adverts) in 1974. At this time, Victor Chandler was already a successful businessman and was working in the hotel industry. He inherited the business from his father and focused his attention on making it as successful as he could. Clearly he succeeded and in May 2014 sold the company (which turned over £1billion in the last year) to major shareholder Michael Tabor.
Ease of Use
BetVictor has a very easy to use, quick and simple layout.
As you can see in the image, live matches are listed in the centre with any big sporting events in that day appearing underneath (this is the standard format most bookmakers
opt for). All the sports are listed alphabetically on the left, clicking on one will send to you to that sport’s page. From here you can again see the live games in that sport, and upcoming matches.
Anyone that has used the site will agree that it feels great to use. It is has a very sleek feel and flows from page to page. BetVictor also have a Match Live Display which is easily one of the best available along with bet365. With a clear structure it displays live-stats, commentary and scores for every match that has in-play betting available.
Odds & Markets Available
We regard BetVictor as our number one source for availability of markets. Whereas they may not always cover every single match & competition, the matches they do cover are always filled with exciting, profitable markets, on just about everything. For example, in the 2014 NBA Finals they offered 115 markets on ‘Game 1’ of Miami Heat vs San Antonio Spurs, (second best were PaddyPower, around 40 markets) with great odds available on markets such as ‘3-Pointers Made’, ‘Player Field Goal %’ and even ‘Team Rebounds’, selections that were exclusive to BetVictor.
We use BetVictor for all our Rolling Accumulator bets due to the numerous markets available, hence why we are able to select the exact market we think will win. From the image you can see that we bet across a variety of sports and markets to find the ideal selection for the bet. This is why BetVictor is our main source for markets.
One issue is that BetVictor is not known for having the best prices. If you compare their prices of popular markets with other bookmakers, rarely will they give you the best odds. However, considering they offer a lot of markets that most bookmakers do not, we still believe they hold the upper-hand.
Free Bets & Promotions
For BetVictor their main promotion is the £25 Free Bet for New Customers, to get this Free Bet simply open an account with them and they will match the value of your first bet with a Promo Cash Free Bet, (up to a maximum of £25).
They also offer a free bet of up to £25 if one selection on a 5-fold or higher BTTS accumulator lets you down.
All in all though BetVictor are not great for Free Bets & Promotions, therefore we can only give them a rating of 3 stars on this section.
BetVictor’s customer service is one of the best around. They can be contacted 24/7 365 days a year via live chat, phone (free phone for inside UK and regular for outside) and email. Response time is incredibly quick for emails compared to other companies, mainly due to the fact they have different emails for each section of the site.
The customer service is available in 4 different languages: English, German, Greek and Israeli.
